This old farmhouse roof was in a bit of a sorry state. Many years of being exposed to the elements have taken their toll. Now the owners have decided to renew the roof and install a dormer to make more use of one of its bedrooms.
The slates have been carefully removed so they can be re-used and the timbers treated.
The new Dormer now installed (despite the recent adverse weather), the roof of the dormer is finished with a rubber membrane which has the benefit of being one complete sheet, creating a seamless covering that is guaranteed for a minimum 25 years. The front & 'cheeks' of the dormer are finshed with vertically hung Brazilian slate.
